From design to product
It is truly a wonderful, gift, this careful philosophical reconstruction that Zanotta realised in the Gilda armchair. Its constructive quality seems to exceed all possibilities (and perhaps the economic opportunities) that the same Carlo Mollino practiced in 1953. While working on the furnishings of ‘Casa Pomella’, he designed two twin chairs with reclining backrests, made with a solid, shaped and sculpted wooden structure and two padded elements on the seat and backrest, both shaped around linguistic and ergonomic choices, and with brass fixings and adjustments.
