Rome / Red in Italy. The colours of red in Italian Design. Sciangai displayed from May 31

After the success in Brussels in 2019, the exhibition Red in Italy. The colours of red in Italian Design, set up with the collaboration between Campari Group and the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels.

The project, curated by FG Confalonieri, with the scientific curatorship of Francesca Valan and the coordination of Galleria Campari, is an exploration of everything that revolves around the colour red through the exhibition of iconic Made in Italy design objects that represent a stimulus for an aesthetic and cultural comparison.

Within this narrative we find one of Zanotta's iconic objects: Sciangai, the unmistakable coat stand designed in 1973 by the De Pas D'Urbino Lomazzi trio that won the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1979. An object with a highly sophisticated but at the same time immediate function that takes its inspiration from the Chinese  game: eight solid wood sticks connected by a joint just above the centre, each of which constitutes a support on the ground and at the same time a support for coats and hats at its upper end.
